Scenario
In the midst of an international crisis, career diplomat Kate Wyler is thrust into a high-profile job she is ill-suited for, with tectonic implications for her marriage and political future. The producers convinced both the American and British governments to allow them to use real-life settings as filming locations for the series, including the still-newly opened American embassy (at Nine Elms) which opened in 2018.

The only location unavailable was Winfield House, the current residence of the US ambassador. Although it is accurately described as occupying the largest residential plot (11 acres) in London, apart from Buckingham Palace, the producers used a country house outside the city for filming.

The character development is quite robust, and the players are not mere caricatures
Time and again, a character seems one-dimensional at first, but then the story develops and is actually much more complex than first blush. My only complaint is that some of the injected “romance”; The stories are so convoluted and out of place that they are disjointed and jarring.
Someone decided to overdo the show a bit and it doesn’t improve the outcome
Professional situations that suddenly turn into "I’m just a girl, standing in front of a boy" seemingly out of nowhere.
